Is God Real?

The Testimonies of God in My Life

“Is God Real?” is an honest, thoughtful, and engaging collection of personal stories and scripture that reveal moments when I felt God’s presence and guidance throughout my life, starting from my childhood on a Nebraska farm, while I was in the U.S. Navy, and to my years as a naval engineer.

The strength of this manuscript lies in the honesty with which I share my personal stories. I was not always open to embracing God in my life, and when I show that not only the times when I happily followed God’s guidance, but also the times when I felt doubt, or simply reticence to follow God’s words. I share my life stories in an easy going and fun manner, making the book a delight to read. Helping to give you an inside view into my life and my relationship with God.

With warmth and humility, I share both my faith and my trials, I’m inviting you to join me on this personal journey toward a deeper relationship with God. Through my experiences, you will find encouragement, insight, and a renewed sense of hope in discovering God’s message for your own life.

More Information

Originally written for my grandchildren, great grandchildren, and future generations, this book recounts how God has worked throughout my life. I began recording these testimonies after making a promise to my pastor. The pastor wanted to keep a journal of God’s work in his own life and asked me to help keep him accountable. For awhile, I did just that then over time, I began journaling as well, which eventually led me to the writing of this book.

The first section shares a series of incidents that occurred after I was “born again”, describing how I grew in the Lord through various situations at work, at home, and even while on vacation.

The second section details my adventures as an aspiring chef or rather as a “master flop” which highlights my many humorous cooking disasters.

The third section reflects on the events from my early life, many of which might seem harsh or even barbaric by today’s standards. Through these experiences, moments of discovery, embarrassment, failure, and struggle, I began to recognize the presence of an all powerful, eternal God who protected me during those formative years.
